Bolivia Freeride Frenzy ITINERARY

Welcome to Bolivia!

As most flights to La Paz International Airport (LAP) arrive early in the morning, Day 1 is dedicated to rest, bike building and acclimating to the elevation of La Paz (11,943 ft). In the evening, we enjoy a great group welcome dinner at one of La Paz’s most iconic restaurants, followed by a debriefing of tomorrow’s adventures and rides.

Today riders get a taste of what mountain biking Bolivia is all about! World-class trails await riders at the Camiraya Community Bike Park, Bolivia’s first bike park, where the local community actively participates in building mountain bike trails. Here we get accustomed to the dirt and altitude, while dialing in our bikes. Before shredding some of Bolivia’s first purpose-built singletrack, we will seek permission from Pachamama with a tree planting and coca leaf ceremony. Let the Bolivian Biking begin!

After riding the trails in Camiraya, we enjoy lunch in the mountains, then tackle Ñuñumañani,  Bolivia’s 2nd Community Bike Park. Another amazing set of long trails awaits in demanding Andean terrain, surrounded by majestic 6,000m / 19,700ft peaks! We conclude the day with a pleasant, simple dinner, then rest for tomorrow’s ride.

This morning we get an early start to ride two epic trails – Sorata and Loma Loma, aka Top of the World Trails 1 and 2. As we head towards the expansive mountain valleys of Sorata, the day unfolds with a picturesque 3-hour drive to the entrance of the Amazon. We embark on the EPIC Loma Loma Trail, tracing the footsteps of the Jancouma and Illampu Mountains. This enduro ride promises breathtaking views and a seamless flow through the ever changing landscapes. This trail is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, one that keeps you up at night, wondering when you’ll ride it again. Upon reaching our Eco Lodge in Sorata, we enjoy a leisurely lunch before conquering the captivating pre-Inca Trail of El Eden. The day culminates with a balcony dinner, providing the perfect setting to celebrate the thrills of an epic day of riding.

Today we embark on another thrilling day of shredding Bolivia, departing from the hotel early for a 2-hour drive to the summit of the Chuchu Pass, reaching an elevation of 4,700m / 15,400ft, or, above sea level. The legendary Chuchu trail, renowned as the venue for the “Jach’a Avalancha” race, features a 35km / 22mi ride with a staggering 2,000m / 6,000ft descent. After this exhilarating trail experience, we pedal back to our hotel, indulge in a delightful lunch, and unwind by the pool in the afternoon. As the day transitions into evening, we prepare local cocktails and gather around a bonfire to cap off the day.

Today we pack the van with all our belongings and set our course back towards the Sorata Pass, traversing the high plateau en route to Lake Titicaca. This incredibly special day involves crossing through some of the world’s most captivating landscapes on our journey to Lake Titicaca. After a brief boat ride on an Andean ferry that offers stunning views of Lake Titicaca before, we ride our bikes through the lake-side town of Copacabana, delving into the town’s rich history. We cap off the day with a sunset hike-a-bike adventure to the summit of Calvario Mountain Mirador, followed by a group dinner and well-deserved rest.

Reach new heights on today’s adventures! The day kicks off with an early start as we embark on an extraordinary sailing expedition with our bikes, bound for La Isla del Sol. The island stands out for its serene natural beauty, featuring terraced hillsides, agricultural fields, and breathtaking views of the surrounding Andean landscapes. Upon arriving on the island, we embark on a hike-a-bike to the summit of the Yumani Community, immersing ourselves in the exploration of diverse Inca Trails, ancient ruins, and archaeological sites, such as the Pilko Kaina and Chincana, believed to be remnants of Inca and pre-Inca civilizations. Following this enriching experience, we return to Copacabana for lunch, and relax the rest of the afternoon.

This day offers an intimate exploration of La Paz through an exceptional city tour, spanning from North to South. Our journey begins at the expansive Rodriguez Market, La Paz’s largest street market, adorned with vibrant colors and exotic products. Next we delve into the renowned Witches Market, a superstitious market dedicated to the veneration of Pachamama, or Mother Earth. Then visit the Main Square of La Paz and the San Francisco Church. Enjoy lunch at one of La Paz’s iconic restaurants in the city center. In the afternoon, we undertake a brief visit and hike to the Moon Valley, La Paz’s paramount geological reserve.

Today we are set to conquer the Milluni Scree Fields, a kilometer-long scree field – YES, a kilometer long – promising an extraordinary downhill adventure. Situated at an elevation of 5,100 m / 16,404ft, this trail stands as one of the world’s longest stretches of scree, offering awe-inspiring views of the 6,000m / 20,000ft glaciers. Following this exhilarating ride, we embark on an enduro traverse to the base camp of Huayna Potosi, enjoy a well-deserved lunch, and then return to the city of La Paz for the world’s longest urban DH run. This thrilling descent spans 14km / 9mi, and descends vertically 900m / 3,000ft, navigating through La Paz’s iconic alleys, stair sets, river tubes, and avenues.

On our final day of riding, we traverse the legendary Pampa Huaricana Trail and the Achocalla Trail, two remarkable routes that once served as connections between ancient Pre-Inca cultures in the Southern Valleys of La Paz. Following a morning of exploration, we enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the mountains. The afternoon is dedicated to packing and any last-minute souvenir shopping. As the day draws to a close, we gather for a farewell dinner to celebrate the incredible moments shared throughout the journey!

FITNESS LEVELS​

Our fitness levels will start at a 1, but that is a 1 for mountain bikers that are active, workout regularly and are outdoors people or athletes.

Level 1: 

  • You exercise at least 1-2 days a week regularly
  • When you bike you bike for an average of 1-2 hours and sometimes have longer riding days.
  • You have the ability to climb at least 600 feet without walking or getting too tired.
  • Do not get over fatigued after only an hour of exercise.

Level 2:

  • Exercise 2-3 times a week regularly.
  • Bike for 3-4 hours on an average ride day
  • Can ride for 1-2 hours without stopping and getting too tired
  • Enjoy being on the trail for 4-6 hours with snack breaks, photos and rest breaks.

Level 3

  • Exercise 3-5 times a week regularly.
  • Bike for 3-4 hours on an average ride day
  • Can ride 2-3 hours with only stopping for a quick snack or rest break.
  • Enjoy being on the trail all day and enjoy long missions that are physically demanding.

Level 4

  • Exercise 5+ days a week regularly.
  • Bike 3-4 hours on an average ride day.
  • Can ride multiple hours without stopping
  • Look forward to all day rides that are very physically demanding.

Skill Levels

Intermediate: 

  • Intermediate riders have been riding at least 2 years and are confident on their bike. 
  • Own their own bike and ride 2-3 times a week. 
  • Are beginning to ride longer, steeper trails and more obstacles. 
  • Feel comfortable on singletrack trails.
  • Ride at your own pace, do not tackle all obstacles, and do not do jumps or drops.


On our trips Intermediate riders will generally push themselves outside of their comfort zone and will leave their mountain bike vacation a better rider. These mountain bike trips are a perfect way for intermediate riders to step up their riding in a safe and controlled environment, with a guide that will help them on every step along the way. 

Intermediate +:

  • Intermediate + riders have been riding for 3+ years, are very confident on their bike. 
  • Ride 3-5 times a week 
  • Are riding most obstacles (rock gardens, roots, steeper sections, small drops and jumps) 
  • Feel very comfortable on singletrack, and prefer singletrack.
  • Enjoy both climbing and descending. 
  • Are ready to take on new terrain geographies and test their skills. 


These mountain bike holidays are a perfect way for intermediate + riders to push their limits, continue progressing their riding level, and is an opportunity for them to get outside of their local riding areas and see what mountain bike gems are out there. 

Advanced: 

  • Advanced riders live to mountain bike. 
  • Ride 4-6 days a week and live for epic singletrack trails.
  • Feel comfortable on singletrack, freerides and any trail type. 
  • Are always looking for new jumps, freerides, rock gardens, steeps, and obstacles. 
  • Dream of riding new and exotic terrain
  • Are comfortable with exposure.


Advanced riders charge into any obstacle with a huge and grin on their face. These trips are perfect for advanced riders to expand their riding portfolio, ride new geographies and become part of the international bike community.
